The Senator representing Southern Kaduna Senatorial District, Sunday Katung, has called for an immediate investigation into the attack that claimed the lives of six people, injured others and destruction of property in Ambe community in the Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
He appealed to security operatives to unravel those behind the attack and commended the community members of apprehending one of the suspects.
Speaking on Thursday when he, alongside the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Mr. Daniel Amos, visited the community to sympathise with them, he described the incident as uncalled for.
Some terrorists launched a fresh attack on the community, killing six persons while injuring nine others as well as the destruction of properties.
According yo the Senator, “I commend your community for the braveness in apprehending one of the suspected attackers. I’m also calling on the security operatives to leave no stone unturned to unravel those who masterminded the unprovoked attack and bring them to justice.”
To the community members who always connive with attackers to attack their community, he said that they should not forget that no matter how long it takes, nemesis will always catch up with whoever that is aiding and abetting such criminal acts.
The member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Mr. Daniel Amos, in his address, prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and offered to take up the medical bills of the injured alongside Katung, to speed up their healing process.
He assured, “I will work side-by-side with the Senator to ensure that the request for the re-establishment of a military camp within the community is actualised to give them and four other communities around the area hope to go back to their farms to cultivate a bumper harvest this year.”
The community’s youth leader, Micah Audi, in his response explained that the community had been living in peace with their neighbours, but wondered what actually went wrong that led to the unfortunate incident, ten years after the community suffered the same faith that led to the death of over 40 people.
He thanked the security operatives in the area for their professionalism in carrying out their duties and hoped that the investigations would lead to the arrest of all those involved so that justice would be served on them and not released unconditionally.
The House of Representatives called on the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the Department of State Services and heads of other security agencies to probe the recent killings of innocent Nigerians in Ambe community.
